Dr. Carsten received his medical degree from The Medical University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Charleston. He completed his residency in general surgery at Greenville Health System and then a fellowship in peripheral vascular surgery at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Carsten is a member of the Southeastern Surgical Congress, Society for Vascular Surgery, the Peripheral Vascular Surgical Society, the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery, the Society of Clinical Vascular Surgery, and Program Director of the Vascular Surgery Fellowship. His special interests include Endovascular Surgery. Dr. Carsten is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery with added qualifications in vascular surgery.
