Bill and Melanie are the owners of The Goddard School of Simpsonville, The Goddard School of Greenville, and The Goddard School of Greenville at Pelham Road. Bill and Melanie have three wonderful children named Miller, Alexander, and Parker. Melanie is from Hilton Head Island, SC. She attended The University of South Carolina where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Management and Master of Arts in Marketing Education and also earned a Certificate in Learning Disabilities from The College of Charleston. Melanie has many years of experience teaching students at different levels (preschool, elementary, high school, college) and combines her love of giving back with her experience of high standards in education. Also an alumni of the University of South Carolina, Bill holds a Retail Management Degree and has over 25 years experience in retail and business operations. Bill and Melanie look forward to offering a safe and nurturing environment where your children have fun while learning.
Our onsite operator, originally born and raised in New York, relocated to Greenville to be closer to her mother. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication from Boston University and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Bridgeport. With over 25 years of experience working with children and an additional 5 years in business management, she is dedicated to fostering an environment where both students and staff feel valued and understood. Passionate about connecting with everyone she works with, she strives to meet individuals where they are, helping to support their growth and development.
Allison Ellis is originally from central New York, but she and her family have lived in the Greenville area since 2018. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in human development from Eckerd College and her Master of Science degree in human resource management from Capella University. Allison has been in the education field for 23 years. Her previous roles include public school substitute teacher, before & after school teacher, preschool teacher, before & after school program director, summer camp director, preschool assistant director and school director. When she’s not at The Goddard School, Allison enjoys hiking, true crime mysteries and spending time with her husband and three children.
Annamarie Scott is originally from Flint, Michigan and moved to the Greenville area to be close to family. She attended high school at Mott Middle College and is currently taking classes with Southern New Hampshire University. Ms. Annamarie has worked with children for over 12 years and is passionate about seeing them learn about the world around them through play! Her favorite children’s author is James Dean for his "Pete The Cat" book series, and her favorite children’s artist is Laurie Berkner. She loves of how her songs engage students and encourage them to get moving!
Kim Groves is originally from North Carolina and moved to Greenville with her family in 2003. Kim has been with Goddard since she joined our Simpsonville management team in 2007. She attended Western Carolina University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology, with a focus in Child Psychology. In her previous roles, Kim was a preschool teacher, a preschool program director and the Director of the Extended Day Program at Bell's Crossing Elementary. She does a great job of maintaining an active system of parent-school communications to promote a strong relationship between them, and she loves planning and implementing a program for teachers' professional growth! Kim also mentors other Goddard Directors around the country and has become an amazing resource for many other schools within our Franchise. She was recognized for her amazing talents, dedication, and hard work by winning The Goddard School National Director of the Year award.
Originally from Orlando, Florida, Rebecca Greene-Rettig moved to Greenville this summer with her family. Rebecca's husband is also in education, and her children (ages five and two) attend The Goddard School. Putting her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Central Florida to good use, Rebecca has been in early childhood education for eight years. She has worked as everything from a floating teacher, to lead teacher, to Assistant Director, to Director. Her favorite children’s author is Tomie DePaola. When she's not working Rebecca loves reading, being outside with her family, and cheering for the Buffalo Bills.
Ms. Veronica is originally from Venezuela and moved to Greenville 18 years ago because she fell in love with the area. She attended Maria Sautísima - Instituto Guicaporo Monsignor de Talavera and has spent over 20 years working with toddlers through preschool-aged children. Ms. Veronica is deeply passionate about teaching young children and enjoys incorporating creative arts and sensory activities into her lessons. Her favorite songs are Old McDonald and The Itsy Bitsy Spider, which are always a hit with her students. She also loves reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear, a favorite children's book that captivates young readers with its repetitive and colorful illustrations. Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Veronica is excited to share her language and culture with her students, enriching their learning experience. Ms. Ada is a passionate educator originally from Boston who moved to Greenville to help with the family business. With over 11 years of experience working with children from infants through elementary school, Ms. Ada holds a degree in Early Childhood Education from Greenville Tech. Dedicated to creating a classroom filled with community and empathy, Ms. Ada focuses on fostering strong, caring relationships with students while encouraging curiosity and emotional growth. A firm believer in the power of storytelling, Ms. Ada loves reading books by Mo Willems, whose fun, silly characters captivate young learners and immerse them in the joy of reading. Outside the classroom, Ms. Ada enjoys speaking Spanish, singing, dancing, and cooking—activities that are often shared with students to add excitement and creativity to the learning experience.
Born and raised in Greenville, Ms. Angie is currently attending Grand Canyon University to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. With over four years of experience working with children of all ages, she is deeply passionate about helping children understand the real-world applications of what they learn, ensuring that their education is both meaningful and impactful. Ms. Angie has a special love for the works of Dr. Seuss, drawn to the playful rhymes and silly characters that make learning fun and engaging. Outside of her love for literature, Ms. Angie speaks Spanish, along with some Japanese and German, and enjoys sharing her appreciation for different languages and cultures with her students.
Originally from Spartanburg, SC, Ms. Aniyah moved to Simpsonville to be closer to my siblings. She studied Education at the University of South Carolina, and has had the joy of working with children for over four years, primarily with children between the ages of 1 and 3. Ms. Aniyah is passionate about creating a warm, loving space where children feel safe, valued, and understood. I believe that every small moment with a child is an opportunity for growth, and she aims to teach with patience and a deep respect for each child's individual needs and pace. One of my favorite children's authors is Mem Fox. Her books gently and peacefully address themes of family, diversity, and belonging—topics that are close to my heart and central to my teaching philosophy. Originally from Atlanta, GA, Ms. Ashley has called the area home since she was just six months old. She earned her associate degree in Early Childhood Education from Greenville Technical College and has spent the past 16 years working with children from infancy to age three. Ms. Ashley is passionate about building strong connections with the children in her care, engaging with them through meaningful conversations and daily interactions. One of her favorite children’s authors is Dr. Seuss, and among the many songs she enjoys singing with her class, “The Wheels on the Bus” is a standout favorite. A fun fact about Ms. Ashley is that she loves to sing, a joy she often brings into the classroom to create a warm and cheerful learning environment.

Ms. Destiny is originally from the area and brings over seven years of experience working with infants and toddlers. She is currently pursuing her degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting (OTA) and has a deep passion for building meaningful connections with both children and their families. She earned her associate’s degree in Elementary Education from NorthShore Community College in Massachusetts. With about two years of experience working with children ages two and under, Ms. Elizabeth is passionate about fostering an inclusive environment where all students feel valued. Since 2018, she has worked in childcare with children ranging from infants to 4 years old. Ms. Melissa grew up in New Hampshire before moving to Florida to pursue graduate school. In 2020, she relocated to Greenville when her husband’s job brought them to the area. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Keene State College and later completed a Master’s in Education at Florida Atlantic University. Ms. Melissa has been working with children for 12 years, supporting ages 3–18. She is passionate about the little building blocks of learning that come together to form bigger skills and loves witnessing her students experience those special “lightbulb moments.” Her favorite children’s author is Eric Carle because his books are engaging for all ages. She also enjoys the music of Raffi. One thing you might not know about Ms. Melissa is that she is an avid reader—she typically reads 6–10 books every month!

She is a graduate of Greenville Technical College, where she earned a degree in culinary arts with a focus on baking and pastry. Although her background is in the culinary field, she has been working with children for two years, primarily with infants but also with toddlers. Ms. Natalia is passionate about witnessing “lightbulb moments” in the classroom—those special times when children discover new abilities and learn more about the world around them. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Natalia loves the Harry Potter book series, has a talent for crochet, cross-stitch, and, of course, baking and cooking. Originally from India, Ms. Sai came to the United States to explore new opportunities and create a bright future for herself. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Sarada College of Pharmaceutical Sciences. With over 3 years of experience working in childcare, Ms. Sai has primarily worked with preschool-aged children. Her favorite part of teaching is watching her students grow and develop. She takes pride in guiding them to become kind, respectful, and caring individuals, and she especially enjoys teaching good manners and positive behavior. Ms. Sai is fluent in Telugu and brings her creativity into the classroom through thoughtful decorations and engaging learning spaces. One of her favorite authors is Dr. Seuss, whose playful rhymes and meaningful stories inspire her daily teaching.
Originally from Massachusetts, Ms. Sarah lived in Florida for 30 years before relocating to Greenville to be closer to the mountains. A graduate of Daytona State College with an Associate’s in Early Childhood Education, she has over 10 years of experience working in childcare, with a special love for working with young children. Passionate about providing children with a positive, engaging experience, Ms. Sarah is dedicated to helping them thrive in a nurturing environment where they can grow and explore. With a focus on making learning fun, she enjoys introducing young children to the magic of ASL (American Sign Language), music, and dancing as ways to express themselves and enhance their learning. One of Ms. Sarah's favorite books is Brown Bear, Brown Bear, a beloved story that holds children's attention with its rhythmic, repetitive text and colorful illustrations.
Born in Baltimore and raised in Greenville, SC, Ms.Savannah has spent her life surrounded by the joys of childhood education. She is currently planning to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education at North Greenville University, continuing her commitment to learning and growing in the field. With 18 years of experience working with children, primarily infants and toddlers, Ms.Savannah is passionate about creating an environment where every child feels loved, safe, and supported each day. Her heart lies in nurturing the unique potential of each child, helping them build a strong foundation for lifelong learning. A lifelong fan of Dr. Seuss, Ms.Savannah finds inspiration in his whimsical stories and timeless lessons. Outside of teaching, she loves to cook and bake, sharing the joy of food with friends and family. Ms.Savannah remains deeply committed to providing a caring and enriching environment for all the children she works with.
Originally from Kentucky, Ms. Shelby moved to Greenville in 8th grade when her dad’s job brought their family to the area. She went on to attend Western Kentucky University, where she earned her undergraduate degree. Ms. Shelby brings valuable experience working with children and is passionate about creating engaging learning opportunities that also promote independence and confidence. She enjoys fostering a positive, supportive environment where every child can thrive. Growing up, her favorite books were Junie B. Jones and anything by Dr. Seuss—she loved their creative, imaginative storytelling. A fun fact about Ms. Shelby: she can make pottery on a wheel!
Originally from Inman, SC, Ms.Tyesha graduated from Converse College with a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Studies. With 8 years of experience working with children ranging from infants to 12th grade, she has developed a deep passion for building strong relationships with students and watching them grow, both academically and personally. Ms.Tyesha believes that the foundation of a positive educational experience lies in creating meaningful connections with each child. Her favorite book is The Kissing Hand, as it reminds her that love and support can travel with you wherever you go. She also speaks some Spanish, which allows her to connect with a broader range of families and children in her community. With her diverse experience and dedication to nurturing the hearts and minds of young people, Ms.Tyesha is committed to fostering an environment where every child feels valued, cared for, and ready to succeed.
Ms. Tyra is originally from St. George, South Carolina, and recently moved to Lyman to further build her career. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Education/Elementary Education through the University of Phoenix. Since 2019, Ms. Tyra has worked with children ranging from ages 2 to 11, gaining experience in a variety of educational settings. She is dedicated to creating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment where students feel confident, curious, and excited to learn each day. One of her favorite children's songs is “If You're Happy and You Know It”—a fun, interactive tune that gets her students moving, smiling, and participating. Ms. Tyra also has a love for drawing and creativity, and she enjoys bringing her artistic skills into the classroom to make learning more hands-on and imaginative.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Ms.Veronica moved to Simpsonville 12 years ago and has since developed a deep love for the area. With a background in Early Childhood Education, she has been working with children for over 8 years, primarily with infants through Pre-K. Ms.Veronica is passionate about creating a fun, loving, and supportive environment where children feel free to be their true selves. She believes that a positive atmosphere helps children build confidence and fosters a love of learning. Her favorite book is Oh, the Places You'll Go! by Dr. Seuss, as it encourages children to dream big and realize the endless possibilities ahead of them. Growing up speaking Italian, Ms.Veronica is able to connect with a diverse range of families. She also has experience coaching All-Star Cheerleading, where she learned the value of teamwork and discipline, skills she applies in her work with young children.
Ms. Bayleigh was born in Georgia but spent most of her childhood in Travelers Rest, where her family settled to be close to the beautiful mountains. She attended Greer Middle College and is currently furthering her education at Greenville Technical College. With over three years of experience working with children—primarily ages 5 to 8—Ms. Bayleigh brings a nurturing and joyful presence to the classroom. Ms. Bayleigh believes that childhood is a magical and formative time in a person's life. She's passionate about helping children create happy, lasting memories at school and strives to make every day in the classroom a positive, meaningful experience. Her love for reading began with the books of Barbara Park, her favorite author, whose stories sparked Ms. Bayleigh's own lifelong passion for books. She hopes to pass that same love for reading to her students.
Ms. Nora was born in Finland and moved to the area with her family when she was two years old. She attended Winthrop University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Art with a minor in Community-Based Learning. Ms. Nora has a year of experience substituting in preschools and loves inspiring creativity in the classroom with her students. Her favorite children’s books growing up were the Junie B. Jones series. One thing you might not know about Ms. Nora is that she speaks Finnish!
Alexander Hyatt grew up in the Greenville area. Alexander graduated from Anderson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in supply chain management. After college, he was a realtor in the Greenville area. He has previous experience working with children of various ages, including coaching high school basketball summer camp programs and being a Vacation Bible School camp counselor for elementary age children. Alexander and his wife, Celeste, have three beautiful children, two of which attend The Goddard School.
Ms. Breanna is originally from Minneapolis, MN, and moved here for college. She graduated from Bob Jones University with an Associate’s Degree in Child Care Development and has been working with children for over two years, from toddlers to junior preschool. Ms. Breanna is passionate about building strong relationships with children and enjoys watching their growth throughout the year. She believes in creating a nurturing environment where each child can develop emotionally, socially, and cognitively. One of Ms. Breanna's favorite authors is Eric Carle, whose colorful illustrations and engaging stories continue to inspire both her teaching style and the creativity of the children she works with. Ms. Breanna is dedicated to making each year a meaningful and impactful experience for the children here at The Goddard School.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Ms. Heather moved to the area in search of warmer weather and to be closer to family. With over 30 years of experience working with children of all ages, from infants to afterschool programs, Ms. Heather is passionate about helping kids grow and develop. One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching for Ms. Heather is witnessing the progress students make from the beginning of the school year to the end, especially when they experience those "AHA" moments. A big fan of Dr. Seuss, Ms. Heather finds inspiration in his imaginative stories and playful rhymes. Her favorite song, "You Are My Sunshine," holds special meaning as it reminds her of their late mother. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Heather loves doing crafts, crocheting, and playing board games, always eager to share these interests with others.
Born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, Ms. Stephanie is a dedicated on-site cook with a degree in Psychology from North Greenville University. With four years of kitchen experience and three years of working with children ages 3-5, she finds joy in nurturing young minds—whether through the meals she prepares or the moments she shares with the children. Ms. Stephanie takes pride in preparing nutritious, delicious meals that fuel their learning and play, knowing that a well-fed child is a happy, thriving one. Her favorite book, The Wonder of You by Nancy Tillman, holds a special place in her heart, as she enjoys reading it with her children.
Originally from Florida, Ms. Tamill relocated to be closer to family. She graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and has over 5 years of experience working in childcare, caring for children ranging from infants to middle schoolers. With a passion for watching young minds grow and develop, Ms. Tamill loves witnessing the unique personalities of each child she works with. Her favorite children's song, "5 Little Speckled Frogs," holds a special place in her heart because of its catchy tune that always gets the children singing along. Dedicated to nurturing a love of learning, Ms. Tamill strives to create a warm and welcoming environment where every child feels encouraged and supported.
